my mom’s side of the family is incredibly Scandinavian (Swedish + Norweigian especially), and this recipe is a wintertime favorite from my grandma has made literally since i can remember! especially in the wintertime months. now my mom has been making it for the last few years because we are the only two in my immediate family who will eat it and share it together.
i literally joked to my mom when she made fruit soup around New Years “you know, instead of taking a stool softener after baby is born, can you just make me a batch of fruit soup?”
we laughed, it was beautiful.
until she brought me over a batch of fruit soup when i was 3 days postpartum, and it’s been my before bedtime snack treat to myself!!! enjoy from my family to yours ❤️
